Review: Moon City Master’s single “Spinning Wheel” – Release date May 6, 2022
Blood Sweat & Tears and their ‘Spinning Wheel’ was a big hit in 1969 and in many ways ushered the seventies with a hefty injection of soul into rock. With their own, this time a full set of ‘Spinning Wheels,’ The Moon City Masters may not have even been born in the seventies, but they are firmly rooted in the rock of that decade, with a solid dose of soul injected into their hard rock sound, not too far removed from groups like Free, latter-day Grand Funk or even ZZ Top. And they got that sound down to a tee, without really sounding like a copy of those names. They simply mixed all the parts together, threw them up in the air, and when they fell to the ground, they just pieced them together randomly. And it sounds quite great, actually!
