Live Review: Halestorm, the Warning, and Lilith Czar – Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, Sterling Heights, Michigan- July 8, 2022
Lilith Czar got the show going. Lilith Czar is the dark and empowering hard rock alter ego of Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Juliet Simms. She was also the frontwoman for the band Automatic Loveletter. She played songs off her debut album Created From Filth and Dust and treated everyone to a little “Edge of Seventeen” (Stevie Nicks Cover).
Hailing from south of the border, The Warning were next to take the stage. Formed in 2013 by the Villarreal sisters who gained major notoriety in 2014 at the age(s) of 9 to 14 with their YouTube cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”. With 3 albums and a couple EP’s under their belt the sisters are making things happen. The single “Money” off of their 3rd album Error released in 2022 made its way to number 32 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.
Halestorm took the stage around 8:30 with a stadium size stage set-up. You could tell by the look on their face(s) that they were excited to get back out on the road in support of their newest album Back From The Dead. It must seem like an eternity since they started the band back in the late 90’s. Earlier this year they released “The Steeple” the second single off of that album that has been getting major radio play. If you can’t make one of the Summer dates they are planning a Fall tour and they will still be joined by The Warning and also New Years Day.
