Review: AU duo Poor Little Things (PLT) “One for the Road” – Release date January 26, 2023
Back in 2019, Rock At Night listened to Australian duo Poor Little Things’ album “Disco’s Burning.” We described it as follows: “Overall, the nine-song album is chock full of solid rock ‘n’ roll. It’s a party in a box, as every well-mixed song glides into another, and faithfully captures the retro glam rock feel.” In 2021, the duo released the album Deal Breaker. Now, PLT released a single/video called “One for the Road.” This is what we had to say:
Rock At Night Says: The song begins with a heavy, hard-driving guitar riff and fast-paced drum beat before soaring vocals, reminiscent of Pat Benatar, emerge. A screaming guitar solo breaks through in the middle of the song as the feeling of speed continues. “One for the Road” is a heart-pumping, up-tempo song that captures 80s rock and hints of hair metal. With its hard rock groove, you might even want to headbang.
