Review: Van Go Go’s single “Avalanche”- Release date February 6, 2023

Detroit’s Van Go Go are no stranger to Rock at Night, nor are they strangers to wider audiences, as they currently have over 3.5 million plays on music streaming platforms and thousands of plays on YouTube. The band consists of Nathan Mackinder (vocals/guitar), Jason Schaller (guitar), Paxton Olney (bass), and Jonah Brockman (drums).

It seems that have so far found a great formula to reach audiences, and try to continue that streak with their latest single, “Avalanche.” This time, they show their gentle side, with acoustic guitars abound and a flute solo by Carrie Wiesinger boot.

“The song is about trying to do the right thing when times get a little challenging. My experience during lockdown was probably very similar to many others across the world. My family and a tight pod of friends did our very best to keep those around us safe that may have had a tough time with the virus.”

With the release, Van Go Go announced their forthcoming second album, which is based on “Avalanche,” and is something to look forward to.
