On a chilly November evening, the iconic Eventim Apollo in London was transformed into a wave of energy as the legendary rock band The Saw Doctors took to the stage.  The band, formed  in 1986 , has had a number of number 1 singles in Ireland and it’s hard to believe they hadn’t played this venue before.

As the opening chords of “World of Good” rang out, the atmosphere erupted into a frenzy of cheers and sing-alongs. The Saw Doctors, led by the charismatic red jacketed frontman Davy Carton, with Leo Moran’s guitar playing  had an infectious energy that instantly captivated the audience Their music, a blend of traditional Irish  rock melodies, catchy hooks, and witty social observation, is a celebration of life, love, and the human spirit.

Throughout the night, The Saw Doctors effortlessly navigated through their extensive repertoire, performing hits such as “Tommy K”, “Clare Island”, “Green & Red”  and “N17.  Each song met with thunderous applause and enthusiastic sing-alongs. The band’s infectious energy was contagious, and the entire venue was transformed into a giant Ceili, with fans dancing and singing along to every word. I haven’t seen the venue that packed for years.

The Saw Doctors’ performance was not just about the music; it was also a celebration of their rich history and their deep connection with their fans. Davy Carton’s storytelling between songs was filled with humour, anecdotes, and a genuine love for their audience.
As the night drew to a close, the band closed with their iconic anthems  ” Same Old Town” and “I Useta Lover”,.
