Review: The Wrong Sides – Elephant Spaceship EP – Release date: March 2024

There’s a thing about progressive metal – people love it or hate it, often without going into too much detail whether there is a quality there to be heard.

That just might be the fate that awaits Puerto Rico prog metal trio The Wrong Sides and their latest three-song EP – ‘Elephant Spaceship,” CHASING THƎ WЯONG INSANITY,’ ‘ Sour Sea.’

Israel Romero – Guitar, Joan Torres – Bass, and José Linares – Drums obviously have the chops to deal with very complex musical passages that they exhibit here, going from fas and furios to more quiet at a drop of a dime. The guys obviously have extensive musical experience not only with rock and metal but also with fusion jazz that plays a good part in their music.

Yet, it is not just a musical show-off, but they seem to have a sense and purpose at what they are doing. Still, it is a matter of the ears of the beholder/listener, and fans of the (sub)genre will surely be delighted with this one.
