Review: Dog Park – Festina Lente – Release date: April 19, 2024
Good pop rock based on an effective melody is these days no stranger to any corner of the world. so it would not come as a surprise that a combination of musicians from France, U.S.A. and Brazil would come up with such music.
What we are talking about is Paris, France-based quartet Dog Park and its album ‘Festina Lente.’ Comprised of Erica, who is American, Isabella, who is Brazilian, and Sarah and Jean who are from Paris, the quartet comes up with an effortless breezy combination of melody-based, catchy pop/rock that simply sticks to your ears with such ease that you just can’t miss it.
As their PR notes, because they are all multi-instrumentalists and embrace spontaneity, they naturally play musical chairs as part of their composition process. This is what makes their quartet unique: instruments and microphones change hands from one track to the next.
You can probably catch all the indie influences Dog Park bring here, but there’s such a mixture of them that the band actually make this music truly their own. A true pleasure to listen to.
