Review: Jacob Giaimo’s single “Happiness I Can’t Lose” – Release date October 30, 2024
The source from which artists can draw their inspiration can be limitless. What triggers such inspiration can be a single thing, but the gamut of ideas and emotions that can come out of it can also create a wide palette of sensations.
Jacob Giaimo lives and works in Los Angeles, and has named his latest album Arts District, from which ‘Happiness I Can’t Lose’ single is taken. The album dropped on November 15th.
Arts District itself is a neighborhood in L.A. where Giaimo found inspiration for a varied set of ideas and emotions that he turned into songs for the album, this song itself being a cross between soft and not so soft rock, which Giaimo skillfully turns into a song with both a musical and lyrical substance on one hand, and so easy on the ear on the other.
Jacob says, “Arts District, was born out of needing something to focus and work on while dealing with a breakup. The goal was to create an album that highlighted overarching themes of a relationship from start to end. In addition, the theme of the album, while often thought of as cliché, is simply love.”
And it is something that Giaimo is able to communicate through this song too.
