Rock At Night chatted with the Detroit band Snapcat Bandits, which consists of Mike Krupinski (guitar, bass, vocals) and Melanie D. Marshall (drums). The duo performed in tribute bands for years but decided to create their own music and form Snapcat Bandits in 2023.

The band is releasing a single, “September Rain,” on September 13th, which is featured in their upcoming EP, Anything and Nothing. We had the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy, and it gave us Pearl Jam and Soundgarden vibes. Fans of 90s grunge and alt-rock music are going to love it.

In this interview, the Snapcat Bandits discuss being a duo and performing live with a bass player, the origin of the name ‘Snapcat Bandits‘, their comparison to Soundgarden and Nirvana, the band’s love of 90s grunge and classic punk rock, the influence of Detroit on rock music and the local music scene, and their upcoming EP, Anything and Nothing.
