Rock At Night had the pleasure of finally meeting Imani Ramos Kolic, Valkyrie Management, who is a veteran in the music industry (she started her career at Columbia Records). Her management company specializes in artist development and management of bands from their initial formation (e.g., recording, merchandise development, etc.) to gigging and full-blown touring. Now based in Orlando, Florida, she manages, promotes, and books bands in the national and international circuit, having a sweet spot for Swedish viking metal bands.
Imani Ramos Kolic discusses her history in the music industry, how technology has changed the business (“pirating”), being a woman in a male-dominated field, her recent marriage with lead singer Michel Kolic of the Swedish hillbilly metal band Fearless, VISAs and international touring (“tour coyotes”), the trials and tribulations of keeping a band together, and churros!

Imani Ramos Kolic and Withering Earth
I grew up in a household full of rock music, studied journalism in college, and then became a scientist.Although my science career has served me well, music has always played a major role in my life. I grew up reading "Creem" magazine; I play several musical instruments as a "hobby";and it seems a camera has always been in my hand. Now, I am combining what I love the most--music and photography--serving as editor of Rock At Night. I travel between the US and UK seeking my dream! My motto: life is short...no regrets. Chyrisse
